Pendulums are a tool used blindly for practices such as spirit divination, healing treatments, connecting with other worlds, connecting to spirit passed, fortune telling (or misfortune telling) <joke> but not really a joke if you’re using a pendulum.
There’s loads of resources online that are lacking key truths about the dangers of using a pendulum –
they’ll tell you all the fluffy stuff like
- how to use a pendulum
- tell you how to make your own pendulum
- or tell you why you would use one
- sell you a pendulum
The common theme among all these resources is no one is actually being being honest with you and telling you the truth about the things that can wrong or that are super duper dodgy when using a pendulum and there’s 2 reasons for that –
The first one here is they aren’t aware of the reasons it’s not safe to use a pendulum .
The second reason is here (I had to make a separate post about it because I got a bit ranty)
I don’t usually talk about the freaky weird shit – I tend to keep it pretty positive on the balance blog but hey – that second point is a bit next level – you can rely on me telling you how it really is.
So I’m going to give you the truths
and fairly excellent reasons not to use a pendulum – just so you know all the risks and the reasons why.
It’s not a long list but it’s pretty punchy.
Here’s three facts about why not to use a pendulum
- they are easily hijacked
- they house entities
- they work against your highest good
- there’s no way to determine if they are actually telling the truth
- your energy influences the pendulum
Well there you go – you ended up with 5 facts, I’m feeling generous –
I could probably think of more but lets not get ahead of ourselves.
Let’s talk about hijack.
This isn’t a new concept. Entities have been pulling this hijack shit since before movies.
It’s unbelievable the entities I have seen. They are pretty freaky and gross and I don’t set out to explain in detail every single one of them, their name or characteristics – I’m just going to tell you like it is.
If someone,
or something – has an entity or attachment –
that entity is a living thing with it’s own consciousness.
It exists in a dimension that is not visible to the eyes ‘as such’ (it is for some people – as for me: I see it in my minds eye in the exact location where it is – if that doesn’t make sense I can explain it in a future post)
Long story short – the entity sees something yummy all fresh and new and full of life force –
And that’s when it jumps from the original host into a new host or spawn an offspring to spring off into the new host. So then there’s 2 – lucky us!
(That’s when you’re going to use your skillz to blast those punks out of the next dimension to a different kind of eternity – the one beyond. They get a choice to go there or somewhere far worse)
Either way won’t hurt/sap anyone else there.
(note: everyone needs to be aware of their own vibration – to get sapped from an entity is a person that is matching the frequency of the energy of the entity doing the sapping – I made a phrase so it’s easy to remember:
“you got to match for it to latch”
So when we have a low vibration – like when we run emotional responses such as hate, desperation, grief, sadness – and others – we are more susceptible to getting jumped by an entity)
The host could be a person an object, talisman, oracle cards, crystals, objects of wonder, statue, the television, the house – all sorts of things.
Consider items around the home that are lovely or get alot of attention and focus.
Consider things that were made or crafted by hand.
The television as an object that can definitely house an entity – Rightly so! That shape gets so much attention and are like a black hole or abyss when they are switched off (another story)
So the way it works with the pendulum is – in the time ones uses it – or turns their focus toward it – for it to become still, one would be exercising the emotion of will and belief.
Will and Belief are powerful emotions to flow through the realms (especially when directed to self)
so when we are projecting will and belief to the pendulum – it’s most likely unconscious but it is still happening.
- the will for it to stop moving and make stillness in the start position, before starting the questioning
- the belief that the pendulum will bring the answers the user requests –
- the super power magical combination of these energies of e’motion directed towards the thing –
- gives the thing life force for it to appear attractive or like a light for an entity or attachment to be attracted to before hijacking it and living in it until it isn’t happy feeding off the energy it’s gets there any more.
The way the entity gets fed is whenever the tool is used for pendulum dowsing.
We looked at ways that that can happen in the first paragraphs too…
Here’s some questions to consider about pendulums – this can be applied to most spiritual tools:
- where did it come from
- who manufactured it
- does it have a crystal as the weight
- where the is the crystal from
- who harvested the crystal
- is that a happy person who harvested the crystal loving their life and getting paid fairly
- is it a mining company violating the land
- is it smooth and polished (so all the rest of the crystal that got wasted to dust because someone wanted a shape)
- is it carved with symbols on it?
- by machine or by hand?
- who’s hand
- was it made in a factory
- where is the factory
- who works there
- what are the conditions like in the factory
- Are the workers getting paid abundantly
- what supplier did they come from before they went into a shop
- how many hands did this product pass through
- is the boss an asshole at any of the places that the product passed through
- Is there writing on it
- what string is it on?
- metal is more conductive to a persons energy field so easier to hijack
You can see there’s so many questions to ask when it comes to the purchase of spiritual items – specifically a pendulum.
All of these questions are with regards to imprinting and happens along the entire journey of the item from production to purpose
There’s no way to know if the pendulum is telling the truth
…unless you use another other intuitive sensory response!! (using our inner magic when we ‘hear’ our intuition – see the answer, feel it somewhere in our body – there are many ways to tune in)
Thing is – if you were using and intuitive sensory response to ‘check in’ about your pendulum – you wouldn’t need a pendulum to begin with because you trust your own responses – so you wouldn’t need to use a pendulum at all for checking for the information you are asking about – because you would be trusting your own kick ass magic and using your own ISR- that every one has – just got to know how to use it!
SO! You know it! Use your own magic – not a pendulum –

Anyway
That’s another funky ass thing about unsuspecting people getting readings done from people who are using pendulums – holy shit!

remember back to all those questions we asked? Well you can add the ‘person reading with the pendulum’ to the long list of interference
– or You – if you are the person doing a reading for someone else and using a pendulum to do it-
Just get rid of the pendulum and use your magic like you were born to do.

If you have a pendulum and you don’t want to get rid of it –
think that gollum shmeegle creature and his ring –
You see what I’m getting at here – some entities actually look like that – scampering across the walls –
If your pendulum for you = ‘my precious’
You gotta let that shit go honey.
Did you realize the pendulum is potentially giving you a sideways response because the focus it is getting directed at it just to see the responses is what feeds it feeds off?
And then the reaction emotion toward the answer…?

I think too many people play around in the supernatural realm without realizing the possible consequences.
This is nothing to play with. What you think is fun can end up turning into years of misery.
I would suggest just leaving things of this nature to those that know what they’re doing and have experience.
Pendulums, Ouija boards, tarot cards, and the like, are serious business.
You don’t want to open a door you don’t know how to close.

Above all it’s best not to muck with what we don’t know about – and always always always check into our heart space or highest self to feel into if it is a good decision to go ahead with – if there’s a sinking feeling in the gut it most likely not the best choice for our health and well being! Gotta say that I love your Mr. Mackey impression, god I love south park. Interesting take on pendulum. I actually do believe that the spirits and entities do live amongst us. It is hard to explain but I do see some sign, like the door knocking, a loud noise in my apartment. I am a Buddhist and I do not want to have any spirits living with me (the not friendly kind). I asked my sister to send me a buddha statue so I can put that on my small shrine. Miraculously, did not hear anything again.
Let’s just say if I am not Buddhist, I don’t think that I will get a pendulum to find out about what ever that lives with me. It’s just my personality. Thanks for the tips, if I do see friends have one I will tell them to get rid of it by using your reference.

This was an interesting post that I had to read through a couple of times because there is so much to digest. The title caught my eye, as “Why using a pendulum is bad mmmkay” is unusual. Once I started diving down, however, it became clear what the intent was.
I was not aware the using a pendulum was a thing for divining answers or personal epiphanies, but it so totally makes sense what you have written. As with any of these mediums, there are so many factors that come into play that I for one would never use them to get in touch with beings for answers.
Thanks much for the warning, and if ever confronted in a conversation with others, I have a lot of ammunition now ready to bring to bear as to why we should not use a pendulum for such activities. It is far too easy to be manipulated by the spirits and other nefarious powers out there.

Hello Karsha. This is an interesting read about the pendulum. I have never ever thought of pendulum in this manner and it certainly gives me the goosebumps.
I have a pendulum clock in the living room but fortunately, it isn’t working any more.

Hi Sharon – the pendulum of the clock is not the pendulum we are discussing here – a pendulum used for divination is a weight on a string or chain – the user focuses on it and asks it a question – it’s totally creepy and your goosebumps are a full body response telling you exactly that – that a pendulum used for divination is NOT GOOD
Your wall clock with a pendulum, sitting on a set time is not good for you either – it sends out the frequency of ‘stuck in time’ … so you could get the clock going again or take it down – it’s up to you – but don’t worry – the pendulum of a clock is probably not housing a spirit unless you put your hand on it and get those goosebumps.

Oh my God! I was getting goosebumps while reading this post because its very scary and creepy. I have a very vivid imagination and the more I read was the more I created images of what the embodiments could be. Actually, I have a pendulum at home, it was taken from my dad’s house after his demise but I never thought it could have this magnitude of mystery around it. I’m not the type who fiddles with the supernatural but honestly, I was clueless and ignorant of the possibilities of a pendulum being like this. Immediately after this post, I’m going to dispose the pendulum.

And as I was missing them too much. I was thinking of having some spiritual connection between me and them. Even I thought of using Pendulum. But after reading your article I have come to know many things. So I think I should not go against the rules of nature.

Thanks for this Karsha. You have provided further affirmation as to my feelings about using these objects such as pendulums, golden pyramids ect…. as means of spiritual fortification. How do you know that the energies your tapping into when using this modality for spiritual enlightenment are not coming from some sort of dark energy and is pulling your lifeforce like an energy vampire when you invoke it’s power? Kind of like the cube in the hellraiser movies. What kind of inter-dimensional portals are being opened? I’ve always been leery about that.
Better to implore the source power of the universe in prayer and or meditation directly without the middleman (so to speak). Knowing that this is loving entity and
it will help you grow and provide miracles when you have a personal relationship therein. All you need is your heart and soul. That to me is the definition of sound spirituality.

Hey Brad! Fear can be a huge factor when harnessing the magic. I am an advocate for using our own magic – that comes from within – we’re not using anything that feels heavy – When you are ‘tapping into’ or ‘connecting with your highest self – it’s highly unlikely that you will be invoking a dark force energy vampire sucking the lifeforce out of you. Command and demand to connect to your highest self and stay in your power.
