how to articulate it?
Think back to having a job – opening a shop or a restaurant. There’s a way to do things. There’s an opening and closing procedures manual. I know, I used to be hired to write them for establishments. Fast forward almost 15 years and I am preparing one now for my daily life.
From the moment I wake up to the moment I go to bed – waking up with purpose is about as easy as remembering who we are on a soul level. When we lose sight of that – we lose sight of our purpose and so begins an avalanche of ‘who am I and why am I here’
Reflecting back to my years as a coach – the GROW model comes to mind:
Goal – what is the goal? what will it give you?
Reality – what’s happening now? how do you feel? what barriers do you face?
Options – what options do you have? what if you could start over? what if everything conspired in your favour to make a change -what does it look like?
Way Forward – what is the best option? what is the first step you can take?
Recently I have been given opportunities to grow as a human being and really define my life choices and the way I choose to act or respond to situations in my life. It hasn’t been easy. I have been forced into a corner where I am the only way out.
So begins the transcription of my open and close procedures! From the moment my eyes open to the minute they close I have made the commitment to myself to live with purpose and on purpose
Before I share my open close – there’s a specific point that needs to be made about starting the day. I was most ‘knocked around’ on the days that I switch my phone off flight mode before my coffee. This combination doesn’t work for me.
Also – to have a clear vision of the YOU that you know you are is the best way to embody that version of you in your everyday life. So, the best, calm, centred version of me would sit in front of a lit candle to set my intentions for the sleep and dream journey. The same in the morning to set my intentions for the day. Whether I do this everyday is beside the point – having a candle in the room is the point.
Be ok with small steps. Put the candle there with the intention to light it – putting the candle there with intention is almost more important than lighting it.
Having a printer and laminator is an asset to this project when you create your own keys and codes to life
OPEN EYES
- Be grateful for the day “I’m so grateful to my spirit for returning to this healthy body to experience another day”
- Sit up in bed. Stretch arms up. Lean forward, touch the toes (read the codes)
- Turn to land both feet on the ground at the same time and when choosing to raise the body – apply an even weight to both feet to stand
- Stretch with gratitude “I’m so grateful my body can move and stretch with ease” read the codes to set it into the muscle memory
- Drink water or lemon water with “I’m so grateful that my body can absorb this – my system is alkalized”
- Choose to break the fast when the body says it is ready – mid day is an appropriate time for the largest meal of the day
- Choose food with intention and purpose – to fuel the body, sustain and nourish. Ask the food – will this sustain me? You know the answer. Use muscle testing for answers
- CURATE YOUR DAY – what’s on the agenda today – use the whiteboard marker to fill in the blank
- Tick everything off for the day and feel good
- Go to bed with intention – light the candle, set the intention for a great sleep, set the intention for the answers you want to receive in your dreams
