When we are going about our day – the easiest way to stay in flow is to maintain an awareness around positive thought forms. It can be several times through out the day when the possibility of a less than positive thought form can slip into the frame of mind and wreak havoc on your day.

So, how to tell when you are having ‘one of those…’ less than positive thought forms.

If you don’t have a consistent awareness around your thoughts – you might not notice straight away when a sneaky negative thought form slides in. Everyone is different of course – however there can be a pattern that occurs when a negative thought form presents itself in the frame of reference and it goes a little something like this

  1. The negative thought form slips in
  2. The mind confirms it with a matching thought – or agrees with it
  3. There is a feeling arising in body that can lead to
  4. a feeling of anxiousness
  5. Heart flutter
  6. Sickening nauseating feeling in the gut
  7. Scenarios begin playing out in the mind
  8. Feelings of paranoia

The cycle repeats. At any of these stages you may be come aware that you are having a negative thought – and there are a couple of ways to hone into what exactly is going on in the mind and body.

Notice at what point in the cycle you discover you are actually in the negative cycle.

This will help you to create a break state at the point you are at.

What is a break state you ask? Break state is what you are going to do mid cycle – to prevent the cycle from looping and exacerbating itself into a cycle of disastrous consequences to the human psyche.

A break state can be performed in many ways:

  • Replacing the next step of the old cycle with a new thought
  • Rename the feeling you have arising
  • Replace the ‘scenario’ on loop in your mind
  • Performing a ridiculous action
  • all of the above

So let’s suggest you notice you are ‘in the cycle’ by step 4 or 5. At this point you can either go ahead and ‘do the feeling’ or you can choose (my favourite) to replace the scenario on loop. These days – if I get that gut flutter of what I could call ‘anxiety’ I ask myself ‘WOW – what am I so excited about’

So instantly I am changing the name of the emotion coming up from anxiety to excitement.

Next I suggest to myself that “Oh of course – it must be the trip to Rome– I’m so excited about that”

At this stage we haven’t booked the trip to Rome – however – I know that I would feel excitement holding my boarding pass, on the way to the correct gate within the departures lounge – the whole feeling I get when I think about going to Rome is excitement, assured, confidence and clarity. So not only have I replaced the thought with another thought and dived into the associated feelings about the new thought – but I also renamed the feeling to something completely different.

Breaking state by performing a ridiculous action goes a little something like this – first you recognize you are doing the cycle, next you apply the ridiculous action and the ones that create the quickest adjustment are the ones that are the most ridiculous. For example –

  • Jumping on one leg with a finger up your nose
  • Poke your tongue out
  • blow a raspberry as you cross your eyes
  • lick your elbow
  • tuck your arms in and flap your elbows like a chicken.
  • Add a squawk to any of these actions if you feel you need to make it more ridiculous

By doing any of these things you are breaking state out of the state you were once in. It’s impossible to be angry or anxious or cry why you are jumping on one leg with your finger up your nose, squawking like a chicken. If you are breaking the state it means you are not doing the cycle in the way you have always done it before, there for you are creating a new cycle by scratching the old record.

Once you get really clear with yourself and really aware of your emotions – you can fine tune your own cycle of anger, or cycle of sadness with a break state action or replacement thought.

How do you know when you are angry?

Like, what is the process that you are aware of in yourself for you to know that you feel fucking angry or really mad.

  1. At what point do you realize you are doing it?
  2. How do you know if you are doing it ‘right’ ?
  3. Are you able to make a choice to be something else or is the emotion too overwhelming
  4. What is the cycle?
  5. Does it begin with a thought or a feeling?
  6. Are you able to stop it?
  7. Are you able to adjust a step and still do anger correctly?

So for example, you know you are giving your power away to a force ‘greater than yourself’ when you decide you can’t be something else…. Remember from the other posts where you get to choose your own adventure because you are fucking magic? That’s right –

No one can make you feel anything – just like – no emotion has power or control over you unless you let it.

The direction we are heading here is to show you your own magic. To actually present to you what your magic is in all the moments of your life – every second is a choice – go left go right – drink water – drink soda – eat candy – eat fruit – be angry or choose something else instead. It’s totally up to you.

You are the master creator of your own destiny. You have control of your thoughts and feelings. You have the power to choose what you call what emotion – YOU have the choice to be something else.

So go choose –

Choose the you that you want to be and make it happen!
